What is the Guide?

The Complete Pet Travel Guide is an accommodation guide for pets, designed for people who like to take their pets on holiday with them. Although its focus is on facilities for dogs - more people travel with dogs than with any other pet - you will still find some information on accommodation for you, as well as your cat, bird and some other domestic pets. Many offer grazing for horses, donkeys and the odd one will even accept a sheep, goat or alpaca. They all accept pets by arrangement. The Complete Pet Travel Guide also contains travel tips from a Remarkable Vet and information on what is involved if your pet needs to travel on a ferry to reach your destination.

What kind of accommodation does the pet guide have information about?

The majority of pet-tolerant accommodation is in camps and motels but there
is a good smattering of B&Bs, backpackers, private holiday homes, cottages,
home/farmstays with prices ranging from approximately $5-$320 a night.

Can I pay by credit card?

Sorry, no. Please send a cheque (made payable to The Complete Pet Travel
Guide) or a postal order. Bank account details can be supplied if you wish to direct credit.

Can I get a copy of the Pet Travel Guide locally?

Some information centres and bookshops have a few copies to sell.

Does the Pet Travel Guide include which beaches etc you can take dogs?

Information provided by local councils includes dates and times of day for
beaches when dogs are not allowed during, for example, daylight saving.
Some walking tracks may have restrictions during lambing or near seal
colonies and these times are specified in the Pet Travel Guide.

I would like to buy your book but at the moment I do not have a printer so cannot print off the form to send it. Could I just send the cheque without the form?

You do not need an order form, as long as your name and address are
supplied along with the cheque.

Can you please advise the length of time for delivery?

Details include what kind of pet is accepted (cat, dog, bird, horse, sheep, goat); if there is a charge or bond for having a pet with you; any restrictions, for example during Easter, Christmas, and other statutory holiday weekends; if there is a restriction on the size of dog; whether or not your dog has to be taken off the premises for relief purposes; if there is an area on site where a dog may run around; how far the nearest dog-friendly beach, park, walking track; if any shelter like shady trees on the site; if a pet-sitting service is offered; where grazing is available and lots more.
